Leave a lasting legacy

Leaving a gift to Vinnies in your Will is an incredible way of leaving a legacy of caring in your community.

St Vincent de Paul has been providing support for those in need in New Zealand for more than 150 years, we plan to continue for another 150-years or more! Your bequest, no matter the size, those most disadvantaged and marginalised to prosper.

At Vinnies Wellington our focus is on providing practical and compassionate support when and where it’s needed. For example, your bequest may:

  • provide children born into extreme hardship with warm clothing, bedding and other necessities

  • provide children and families living in poverty with food, clothing or essential household items

  • assist those struggling with life’s challenges to access the social service support and advocacy they need

  • provide companionship, friendship and a listening ear to those who are lonely or isolated

  • provide friend, support or even work experience opportunities to those who are disadvantaged or marginalised in society.

  • A percentage: you can leave a nominated percentage or fraction of your total estate.

  • A specific gift: You can choose to leave a specific amount of money, real estate, shares or any gift you wish to nominate.

  • A residual gift: after providing for your family, you can nominate that you want to leave part, or all of what’s left of your estate to Vinnies Wellington. The flexibility of this type of gift means it is less likely to need updating over time.
