Caitlin of Cardinal McKeefry School in Wilton has been participating in the William Pike Challenge. This initiative is an inspiring program that assists schools and their teachers in fostering personal development among students from years 7 to 9. It involves the students participating in five outdoor activities, 20 hours of community service and a variety of passion projects.
We were very lucky to have Caitlin come along and join the team at our Vinnies Khandallah store. She volunteered for an hour every Tuesday, never missing a day and was punctual to the minute. She quickly familiarised herself with the shop by initially tidying the kids’ corner, then colour coordinating the clothing and anything more we needed help with.
She showed an aptitude towards customer service and mastered the till. She very quickly became the darling of all the customers, being respectful, helpful, cheerful and brightening up everyone’s day.
Caitlin has now completed her 20 hours for the William Pike Challenge but has volunteered to continue to help whenever she is needed.
Caitlin is an inspiration to her generation. Securing volunteers to assist in the many services that keep our communities healthy and vibrant can be difficult as we live in a very busy world. We are so grateful to have Caitlin in our team. Not only for the 20 hours she was required to work for the Challenge, but offering to continue.
