Every year, the year 12 girls at St Mary’s College learn about food insecurity. This year, Vinnies was able to start off their unit by giving them a talk about our food bank and the type of people that we help.
You’d be surprised as we have a wide range of needs. Some individuals only need quick, one time help, while others work closely with us for several months. The goal, of course is always to get them back on their feet and self sufficient.
After hearing the talk, the St Mary’s girls put on a food insecurity food drive! We really depend greatly on donated food for our food banks. We were so happy to receive all these boxes of food. They will certainly help those in need in the area.
Thank you girls!
